First Project: Custom Painted Tank
«

I purchased a tank off of ebay with the sole intent of custom painting it myself. The paintjob looked like a giant tangerine.
At first I attempted to sand the paint off by hand. This proved to be a stupid idea so I used an orbital sander.
By the end of the first day the tank looked something like this.

Try a paint stripper, or a steal brush extension for a drill, both have worked well for me. You will be there all day if you are trying to remove all of the paint.

Day two:
I did some more sanding and what not. I got fairly far (over 3/5 of the tank done) before getting annoyed and buying stripper.
Took about 4 coats to get it naked.
Here is the tank post-stripper:
I then proceeded to sand off any remainder. I then put bondo onto the dents and over the emblem mount.
More soon....

I skipped a couple postings of steps... BUUUUT: here is the tank pre-buffing
I know the bondo didn't turn out as well as i would have liked. BUT, for my first time: Using bondo, airbrushing, using a power sander, paint stripper.... I'd say it turn out fantastic :-D
