Need help/answers about CB550F Carb Linkage
« on: April 01, 2011, 07:14:11 AM »
Yes, a green newbie.

I don't understand how to properly disassemble this linkage. I've removed carbs 1 and 2  from the Plate Set Stay, but don't understand how to remove carbs 3 and 4.  Which area do I disassemble (red arrows in pic ?).  Does the shaft (blue arrow) press out? Do the screws holding things on the shaft thread into the shaft, or just press against the shaft? I tried to loosen one of the bolts (green arrow in pic) and the bolt snapped off - I can repair with a drill and easy-out once I get things apart but don't want to damage anything else - advice from some EXPERTS !!!!!!!!

Hey, You don't need to touch anything on the main Assembly, You need to unscrew the 2 caps located by the Large red arrow. Remove the spring and pin. Then push the arm down and it will come out of the carb adjustment assembly. Leave everything else intact.
