Same thing happened here in Cranbrook. Old time wrecker at least as far a japanese bikes go, finally decided to call it quits. he said that he couldn't compete with all the e-bay traders. He must have had 300 bikes in the yard. I was able to get lots of parts for my builds from him for next to nothing, as long as i took the parts off myself. When he decided to clean out the lot, he phoned me to invite me to the sale before the stuff got piled into dumpsters and scraped. There was a row of honda 50's and 90's, probably 15 bikes in total. i asked him about a few of them, not that i had any real interest in them but thought i would build a nice mail box out of a few. nope, sold all to someone in Calgary. My loss. i did buy 2- 550's with the idea of making one complete bike. Between the two bikes there is enough parts to build a decent bike. I got the two bikes and five boxes of NOS honda parts for $60.00.
the wrecker in Trail also suffered the same fate. owner got tired of trying to deal with guys that would agrue about the price of a piece saying " I can get one on e-bay for $xx.
We can thank e-bay for forcing the local boys out of business!
