Topic: #3&4 no fire....ballsack!!!!

got on the scoot this morning to go to class and got about a block away and my engine got kinda rough. I turned around and pulled it back into the garage and felt the header and #4 was lukewarm, #3 a little warmer. 1&2 were both the same scalding temp.

after I got back from school I pulled the tank off to check connections to the coils. everything is tightly connected.

it makes sense to me that it is the right coil that has gone bad, but I figured I would check with you guys first. its 96 bucks for a stock coil from the local honda dealership. I'm about to check prices online. and since I have a dynaIII ign., I need 5 ohm coils anyway, right?
don't have a multimeter so I haven't checked the coils yet

Hey Comcrx...
One coil fires 1 and 4
The other fires 2 and 3
If 3 and 4 aren't firing it's probably not the coil...
Does yours have dual fuel feeds to the carbs???

well, that makes sense, but I thought I traced #4 wire back to the right coil. I probably just got lost in the maze of black wires down there

I have one line coming from the tank, which splits into a T, 1&2 -3&4
I'll go home and check for clogged fuel line

funny story though, a couple weeks ago at the bike show, we were in the swap meet section and some guy had clear fuel line filters for a buck a piece. my girlfriend thought I should pick a couple up because they were so cute. I should have listened.

ok, it is fuel starvation in the T that connects 3&4. I thought I cleared it, but a few blocks away it did it again.
any suggestions on how to clear this without pulling the carbs off? I already got the shpiel from our maint. guy that I'm not supposed to be working on cars and such in the basement garage

tslfstb, ballsack, or simply balls, are two of my favorite words. its a little more acceptable than the F bomb
