Hi This is my first post here,
I have 2 questions I would very, much appreciate some help with please.
1. See attached pic. You will see the the 8mm head bolts have fractured the bottom of the threaded hole after torqueing up to the correct setting. This may well be due to that fact that I had the head skimmed as the torque settings were correct and the washers were in place.
In your opinion can this be left as is or would it need to be welded up?
I will add thicker washers when I re-torque it to prevent further damage.
2. How do you decide if the cam chain needs replacement? The Haynes manual describes a method that requires 4 hands, and seems to be the most complicated way to achieve a definitive answer. Has anyone a better way as I don’t want to buy a new cam chain needlessly.
