Just wanted to jump in to introduce myself before I switch over to major lurker mode.  I just moved to the East Cobb area from Canton, and moved my motorcycle project from a buddy's garage to my new garage.  I'm working on a CB500, but the twist is that I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing.  I've ever ridden a bike in my life once, in a parking lot, and I fell over.  But I got back on!   Anyways, I figured I'd throw a couple pics up of what I'm working with.  Thanks for looking!

Here is how I bought her, all held together with zip-ties:

Notch another one for the Georgia riders. I'm down in the Columbus area.

Brand new to the whole motorcycle thing. Picked up a '74 CB750 as a rideable project bike. I'd like to get it to "daily driver" status and eventually start modifying it. I've learned a bit just lurking, so I figured I'd join in and meet some of you folks.

What what? Im in Bluffton SC 15 minutes from Riverstreet. Tanqueracer Ive been wanting to meet up with you. I thought Vinny Van go gos for pizza at city market some sunday afternoon would be good. Then out to Tybee and back. Now the holidays and everything else are rapidly approaching. Get in touch with me and maybe the first day spring hits like March we can do it! I can probably scare up another SOHC to join us. Or wherever you want to ride. Im not familiar with your side of the river. Ive been up through Springfield and Clyo and crossed back into SC a few times and the wild flowers blooming in March makes some great photos.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

You must be close to me because we ride through Clyo/Springfield all the time. We rode up to Statesboro a couple of weeks ago. All the cotton fields were blooming. Made for a great view.
Send me a PM so we can xchange personal info and such. Look forward to meeting you. ;D

Just adding to the Southern Region team - I'm Jay - and my current ride is a 74 550k - Sold a new triumph 865 and paid off the loan - she treated me well for 27,000 miles but my new 550 cost A LOT less to ride.

I just found a broken casting inside one of my carbs but as soon as i replace or repair i'll be riding from Dallas Ga to Buckhead for work each Day. And everywhere between.

Hope to see yall out on the roads!
Ride it - Don't let it sit like a museum piece - Pour some fresh fluids in 'er - Kick'er over - Let the wind run over her cam covers - Listen to her purr

I don't think I ever got around to introducing myself when I got on the forums years back because I was just focused on solving problems through my rebuild. I am in the Dallas/Rockmart area and ride a 72 cb750.

I am aslo good friends with Jay and introduced him to the forums with his recent purchase of his cb. He and myself ride together in a club called The Dirtys. There are roughly 12-14 of us that all ride vintage. I'll make sure to send out an invite to a ride next time we organize one.

Hello all. I am currently building a CB550 to be road worthy and would love to link up for a ride when complete. I see a few of you are in the Sav/Bluffton area so it should work out well in the near future. The build is when I have time, but I am hoping to be done with it by August the latest. Once I get the motor back from Vintage Motorcycles in Guyton I will post up a build thread and toss a link in my signature for anyone to follow. Hope to meet some of you all soon.

Hey all. New guy here in winder. My current project is a 73 cb750 chopper. Should have her going once I figure out this wiring.   The bike is a project someone else started so I can't take all the credit. I spend more time scratching my head then anything with this wiring but I will figure it out one day. My daily rider from winder to commerce is a 01 Vulcan. The cb chopper is my second build. My first build was a gsxf600 cafe that I wrecked about a month after I finished it. I helped a buddy about 5 years or so ago build a cafe cb750 on a rigid frame and that got me thinking and my blood pumping for my current project.
Oh yeah the name is nick.
