auto parts store make your own gasket does it work?
« on: April 23, 2011, 03:14:57 PM »
so my 550k blew its head gasket..

this morning i took the head off cleaned the surface and all that fun stuff

back when i was into car tuning we would use these make your own gasket sheets that you get at the auto parts store for making your own head gaskets you just trace and cut out.. they are made out of cork/rubber

will this work for my head on my motorcycle or should i ditch it before i put the head back on?

just wanna know if anyone has done this and it worked?

Composite gasket material would never work for the head gasket.   Maybe if it was a sheet of solid copper........
