1974 carb "hard to find" rubber seal problem SOLVED!!
« on: April 14, 2006, 07:16:22 PM »
All,  I solved my problem regarding the top rubber grommet looking seal that provides a dynamic sealing surface for the slide.  After searching all over the world from Keihin to desperation of failing ebay bids... I found a 11/32OD x 1/8 ID 3/16T rubber grommet at Lowe's.  I gingerly used a dremel tool to ream out the grommet.  It works perfectly!  No more issues trying to find a discontinued, cant find it anymore, good luck finding, look at you now-did you learn your lesson not to ever carb clean rubber bits part!
The manufacturer is Hillman.  Ahhh its nice to be back on the road again!
