Good Evening,
I just started to install my APE clutch for my 72 CB750. I got a little concerned about putting it back together right, so I consulted some old posts. Mainly on the clutch lifter install and how easy I could break it if I wasn't careful. Well I simply screwed in two screws without any clutch springs to see if the lifter would lock-up against the posts on the clutch hub. It seemed to lock-up, but the thrust lifter bearing would not rotate. Now I had justed finger tighten the bolts but does this make sense? Did APE have a taller stack of plates than stock? This is the kit with the 2 extra plates and thinner friction discs.
I would like to ride on a trip Friday, and I am really debating weather to put it back stock for now, maybe use the new springs and ditch this new clutch pack.
Someone help.
