Installed and tested. It works. Filled her up with Mobil Delvac and took her for a spin in dark and foggy evening very much like Hound of the Baskerville movie.

I also switched oil tank K0 to K3 because K0 did not allow me to use Franken ribbed covers.

I have to say the original filter looks better, but this filter will be much cleaner to change.

The day before muzzleloading season I hit a 4 pointer, the headlight bucket and the tank took the hit. Also #4 spark plug cap. I was able to ride back home on 3 cylinders.

Installed some goodies - new to me 23" tube forks with excellent chrome. Headlight brackets from Dime City Cycles, also sanded smooth sides of brake pads.

El cheapos bar end mirrors are better than the single I had before.

I heard of a state trooper in Colorado who would pick up hind qaurters whenever there was an elk killed on the road.

The left front brake is giving me no end of trouble. Keeps dragging and binding. I took the pad out, cleaned and lubed, rebuilt the Master Cylinder only to get the same result on the end.

Yesterday I took the caliper off again and sure enough the mobile pad would come out all by itself no problem. Puzzled I cleaned it all once more, put it together, pressed the pad in with C-clamp to get it over the disc and it needed just little more. I took it apart again, I am actually pretty good at it by now

but this time while pumping the pad out it got stuck so bad I the hydraulics would not move it. I bet that's what's happening, the pad just gets stuck. I yelled few selected words and put in a brand new set of brake pads, even the old ones had quite an amount left on them.

As far as I can tell buy spinning the wheel and breaking it works now, but only the road will tell.

Is the caliper properly aligned to the disc mate? I know that with our floating calipers they can be out a bit, but if it was binding that much, that have been your problem? The problem that I had (which took me ages to work out) was that the pads on my second caliper were too thick!

That's right, I don't know where I got them from, but they had too much "meat" on them, and were binding as soon as I tightened the two caliper halves together. I ground off a few mm's, and all was good. Cheers, Terry.

She rolls very, very easy. Took her out for quick spin and looks like the new brake pads are working as designed.

Checking out your thread and saw that you hit a deer on your bike. How bad did that suck?

I see them occasionally and it's usually one of those pucker moments.

I was very lucky. He came from the right and didn't get further than his head to the headlight. Means I hit him with my right shin, the right ligh bracket collapsed and the light bucket shattered and there is a dent in the tank. If he were faster or I were slower, I would T him and fly over likely. It was the last Friday in October, the very peak of the rut here in Virginia.

I know of cop who died in Manassas battlefield after hitting a deer, it is all matter how and where you hit it.
