oil tank build
« on: April 29, 2011, 06:02:55 PM »
For some reason I felt I didn't have enough projects going on so I decided to build an oil tank, I haven't finshed it but will walk you threw where I'm at

1st I went to my drawer full of bungs, some I made some I have bought from www.bungking.com, than I cut an 8" piece of 5" x .120 wall tubing

I than drilled two 3/4" holes 5" apart I also made a quick jig to hold the 3/8 x 16 bungs square while I tacked them

Here it is with the mounting bungs welded in I than moved on to making some frame tabs

I than looked at some end caps I bought at www.bungking.com and decided to go with the domed end caps.. I tacked one on and will leave the other off untill I mount to the frame and drill the oil feed and return holes and the vent and fill just to make it easy to clean out all the metal shavings

Well thats all I got for now

Thanks Stephen
