battery making noise
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:00:09 PM »
Just got back from a ride today, my 750 k6 had been sitting in the garage cooling off for about 30 minutes. Had just put the bike on the center stand so I could oil the chain (no I'm not going to take it off to save a little weight) and I heard a faint sound of my battery making noise. I've heard this before, but thought I would ask other members if they have noticed the same thing after riding.

You may want to check your charging voltage to make sure you're not over-charging the battery.
PS. I won't tell you to take your center stand off, as long as you don't tell me to lug mine around all the time. ;)
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Check that the vent outlet/tube is clear.
Check the voltage
Keep your center stand.  It makes life so much more pleasant. ;D

Removing the chain to save weight is probably not going to work.
