Just did a top end rebuild and carb overhaul for a friend. The bike didn't run at all before, or rather, I got it running and it was a mess. After all this work, bike starts right up, idles like a champ, and motor is quiet etc.. BUT, when you give it gas under load, it's lost all it's balls. It has a hollow sound and struggles to get into high rpms. You can still get to highway speeds, but it's got less get up and go than it did before going over everything, even though back then you couldn't let go of the throttle or it would die under 3k.
COmpression numbers are strong and even. carbs SEEM clean, and even if i missed something, like I said before, it had plenty of top end power when it ran crappy.
Not sure what kind of ignition system this is, but the pickup seems to be where the stator is.

ANy ideas?
Thanks!

double check your cam timing, then check it again.

A main jet got loose, probably in the first 20 mins of adjustments at and arOund idle. Cranked down on it and all is aok. Thanks!
