Identifying CB750 Keihin carburetors
« on: May 03, 2011, 05:16:53 pm »
I have a set ( rack ) of keihin carbs for a cb750.  I can't find any numbers anywhere on the bodies, they have
brass floats, the tops are chrome, bodies are black ( painted ? )  no jets or emulsion tubes, float bowls are
stock held on with bail clamp.  I want to get rid of them since i have no use for them but i dont know what
year they came off of.    :o   I did a search but didn't find anything to help my situation.   :(     Help !    ::)

There are numbers on the bodies.   Look for 657A, 657B, B750A, 086A, or 7A.  The numbers may be faint, but they are there.   :)

Look on the end of the carbs, I forget which end, a little higher than my arrow, not on the removable float bowl, but on the main carb body and you will find the model and serial number.

Look here.  Kinda hard to see if the carbs are on the bike.

Ah, different kind from mine. They moved the location of the type info. Mine are PD type, used on the 77 and 78 CB750.

http://www.hondachopper.com/garage/carb_specs/carb_specs.html

This is only slightly helpful since it doesn't list exact years but rather specs.
The only differences listed in the specs is the mains.

The 7A were used for late 70 and 71?  (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) and the 657A & B were used 72-75 as far as I know.

I have examples of all three and except for minor external cosmetic differences they are identical.

Brass floats would be earlier,I know 71 used them, not sure if they switched to plastic in 72 or 73.
