I lucked into a CBR F4i, with only 10k miles on it, for 600 bones. I couldn't believe the deal, thought maybe something wasn't kosher, but it checks out. Guy says the head gasket blew because the PO (an idiot) put too much oil in the motor. Guy says he doesn't have time to fix it - just buy a new motor and put it in he says. I understand that hondas are pretty much bulletproof - this thing sounds like it's turning over and all that. Has compression. (yes I got the 5 1/2 OR MORE quarts of oil out?) I wanted to fix it - but the gaskets and seals would cost almost as much as a junkyard engine! I'm looking for one now. Guess I don't want to throw good money after bad trying to fix a motor with a bent rod or something I can't hear or even see.
