saltlick... i'm almost positive you're joking but, for those of you that are about ready to second saltlick's self-nomination, i've copied and pasted the rules for BOTM.  basically, it is so that there is no confusion and i know many of you will be lazy and not go read the directions unless they are in front of you   :P  j/k... i just think for the first month we might need to have the instructions here too.

SOHC-FOUR motorcycle of the month rules:

1.   the SOHC4 motorcycle must be owned by the forum member (we’ll take your word for it)
2.   user must be nominated by another member, no self nominations
3.   a nomination must be made, seconded and accepted within the allotted timeframe (if you do not accept a seconded nomination by the 15th of the month, you/your bike will not be included in the contest for SOHC4 of the month)
4.   please refrain from topics other than motorcycle of the month within these particular threads
5.   if you nominate another user that has multiple motorcycles, state which one you would like to nominate
6.   the motorcycle must be a Honda SOHC4

HOW IT WORKS:

1.   monthly nominations will begin at the beginning of the month and run until the 15th
2.   from the 16th to the end of the month a poll setup will be used to vote
3.   users will not be able to view the results until the contest has ended each month
4.   the user with the most votes wins bike of the month

NOTE:  each month, a forum moderator will setup the nomination and voting threads.  Please do not start one yourself as it may become quite confusing.

Small prizes may be awarded depending on availability.  If you'd like to donate an item to be awarded please speak with a moderator.

Lastly, January through November we will vote on "bike of the month", in December we will vote for "bike of the year" based on all the 11 winners of "bike of the month" throughout the year.

yay!  another thread for me to post incessantly (by myself it seems  :-\ )

anyway, you guys know the old gallery is going away very very soon right?  so, please put your bikes up in the new gallery.  i'd like to nominate a bike but, the ones i'm thinking of nominating are not in the gallery.  so, i'll wait until you get them in there and i wont tell you who i'm thinking of.   :P  ok,ok... i'll give you a hint... the displacement is somewhere between 350 and 750  :D

i second chippy's green machine!

now, don't forget guys, you still have to accept the nomination by the 15th of may to be in the running.
the basic reasoning for this is so that we aren't adding people to the contest that are not currently using the site.  also, the reason we are seconding nominations is so that we don't have bikes in the contest that only one person likes  ;D  i'd like to see people stick to one or 2 nominations per month per person but, feel free to second all the nominations you want.  BUT, as there is no limit to nominations in the rules at this point... I will not stop you for too many nominations

So you do away with the Karma on this site, and begin another popularity deal ?  ;D

I vote for Chippy's green & black 550...

great proteal... but, i bet chippy would appreciate that more if you did it in the voting poll which will start on the 15th of may.

also, my last nomination for the month will be tsflstb... search his user name in the new gallery.  that is one great looking 400f!  not too overdone but, a sweet looking custom.

so everyone, people are in some need of seconds on this thread... including me  :'(  anyone that thinks some of those nominated should be in the running... go ahead and second them... that way they can ACCEPT!    i'm chompin at the bit here!  and we've got a whole month to watch the tally soar.

Chippy's 550

yes!  i think we should keep the nominations to one or two per month (meaning, only one person nominating one or 2 bikes... not only 2 bikes per month in the entire contest) but, feel free to second as many as you like.
