400F Wheel Swap?
« on: May 29, 2011, 10:19:19 AM »
My '75 400F's wheels are showing their age.

I was looking to get some solid spoke (mag) wheels for it but don't want to get into a bunch of modifications.

Anyone know of a wheel thats as close to a bolt on as you can get?

Thanks,

Sonny

I put a set of Comstars off a Honda 400 Hawk (late 70's/early 80's twin) on a CB350F race bike.

I used the 400 Hawk forks in the 350F triples (mainly because I wanted to use a newer style brake caliper).  The sanction tubes were the same 33mm.

Did not have to machine the rear cush drive, so the rear wheel must have lined up with the chain.  Probably had to swap spacers around, but I honestly don't remember.

All in all it was a pretty simple swap.

Now I think that I did end up with a 19" front wheel instead of the 18 that is stock on the 400F
