888 and 836 questions

I know a guy who has an 888 and a 836 both disassembled with some problems... his 836 has a cam with a burnt lobe by at least a millimeter and the 888 has a scuffted piston with a decent groove in the cylinder wall... I measured the piston size and got 68 mm for the 888 (does tbhqat sound right)
 Is there any reason the 888 cam couldn't be used in the 836 engine? I couldn't tell you anything else about them other than that... what other measurements or observations could make for betterf info

67mm is 890cc, not too sure what 68mm equates too but it would be somewhere round 940cc...? 67.5 is 915cc, maybe thats it....
The cam should fit any size 750 engine within reason..

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

Mick, something to remember, It's the bore that determines the size not the piston.
Like you said, a 67mm bore is 890 or to be more pressice, 888.579.56cc.
If he's measured the piston a little large at 68mm and it in fact fits into a 68mm bore it would be 915.302.28cc.

you probably correct there Sam, i was referring to what they were sold as .... I have a 67mm set that are sold as 890 and 67.5 as a 915 so i just "assumed {i know... ::)} that 68 would be somewhere around 930-40ish. My 70mm is sold as a 970 and the 71mm as 1000, they are probably not exact either..... ;)
