So here we go... I'm a younger guy (25) who grew up with triumphs, bsa's, and honda's, all older than 1976. I just love the looks and quirks of old bikes. New technology and 190 mph top speeds, plastic body cladding and space frames just don't do it for me. Hence I shall set off on my first major solo project. Dad's direct guidance won't be there, I'm in the deep end, let's hope I listened to him well enough to swim. He gave me a half completed 1976 CB 550 (luckily the expensive half is what's done: motor, carbs, new wheels, tires, brakes, etc.) I am itching to get this baby on road.
So obviously many of the members here in my situation who want a modded out bike go the cafe racer route, but I want something a little different. I was always fascinated by flat track racing, and decided to throw some of that influence at this project. A homologation of street, track, bobber, multi-cylinder goodness, if you will. And I will document as much of my trials and tribulations as I can here with as many pics as possible. Please chime in, ask questions or lend a guiding hand to one who will certainly need it!
