CB550K2 ready to ride for the season
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:03:17 PM »
I joined this group this spring after I purchased a 1976 CB550K2.  It was pretty much complete and running, although she was leaking fuel out of the carbs pretty badly.  Rebuilt the carbs, replaced the 4into4 original exhaust that were rusted out with a set of used in great shape 4into4s I bought from a member of this site, replaced the throttle cables, installed a halogen headlight, new hand grips, took off the VetterIII fairing, the luggage rack and tail box, new modern tires, new sprockets and chain, and lots of cleaning and lots and lots of polishing of the aluminum.

She runs very sweet, quiet, plenty of zip, and smooth smooth smooth.  I plan to have her repainted this fall back to the original candy garnett brown and have the stripes painted on.  Also plan to recover the seat at that time.

Restored her for my 18 year old daughter to ride this summer.
