Soda blast assembled engine yes or no
« on: June 03, 2011, 03:30:59 PM »
Hello
Pulled the engine out last night (CB750)
Can I have the engine soda blasted as is after blocking off ports or is it better being pulled down and cleaned piece by piece.
I know it will be heavy as is but a bloke I spoke to about 6 months ago reckons he can do it
Thanks for your thougts on this
Scott

gday scott,if the engine is a good runner and you dont really need to take it apart, and you seal up and mask off really good and the bloke doing it is experienced it should be ok with soda.

+1.

I've not done a full assembled engine with it myself, but seen the 'threads' on two or three by folks I respect, and they swear by it.

Good luck.

thanks guys I will try to get the engine done this week.
Then decide if I should paint it black again or leave it nice a clean
both look fine
