Yeah, my parts code sheet doesnt even go past 422 (CBX). The Frame sticker is for the C50 and C120. I have just been so disappointed with the quality of the parts that I got from Vietnam and Thailand. I havent used a single item that was bought for my 90, it seemed in better taste to just clean up what was original. I bought a brand new one piece exhaust for it.....no way will it ever fit without cutting and re-bending.
I would rather buy something rusted with an "HM" on it than a brand new copy. Lesson learned.
So who is making all of these new "Honda" parts with the nice red labels?
Having done business in the Far East at one time it is customary to knock off parts. Not like you think. Someone like Honda ordered some parts made. The shop will fill Honda's order and make some for themselves. Honda like everyone else is outsourcing to Vietnam and other low cost markets. Some of these are small shops that can afford to do short runs.
In Hong Kong you could buy knock off designer Jeans. They were made in the same factory as the real ones using the same cloth, they guy simply ran an extra shift using extra material and labels he bought from his suppliers. We bought Cassettes on the street in Indonesia, looked perfect and played perfect. When you bought one in the States, you look at the package "Made in Indonesia" printed on the back.
I have heard the OEM Honda parts bought from Honda are not plated as well or finished. Any idea where they come from? Nam, India and other cheaper suppliers.
I bet I could take a part and making some calls have a run made overseas.
