After looking at your pictures....

Wow... blue frame.  You gonna keep it that way?

Clymer manual... set it aside.  Buy the book listed on this site: www.sohc4shop.com for less than $100.  HondaMan is among our best resources here and his book is awesome and tailored to assist you in your "adventure".  The Clymer manual is a maintenance book which is completely different than what you're doing or what you need right now.

Blue gauge / Green gauge.  Sounds like a Dr. Seuss poem about to break out.  hmmm the green is "year correct" for a K6.  There are folks here who make gauge faces or you can match one of the two gauges by buying one and calling it good.

Where's the basket?  Where's the case?  You may want to start a thread in the "Project" section.  We love project threads with lots of "pichers".

You've definitely come to the right place.  Welcome!  You'll get lots of help here (sometimes whether you like it or not :)).

Almost forgot about the exhaust.  Chromers (people who chrome things) won't chrome used exhausts unless they are meticulously cleaned (near impossible).  Those pipes may be paintable but lots of folks have cleaned up icky ones with crumpled aluminum foil (no kidding).   www.cyclexchange.net has 4-1 systems.  MAC has 4-1 are 300-ish (nobody hear says anything good about them but I had good luck for many years).  Original pipes (new) will be 1200 bucks.  I wound up with a new set because I want an "original look".

(you see, now you're in for more than you asked about....) New saddles are available for 350-ish.  Sidecovers are sold by a guy on this forum by the name of FrankenStuff (see the classifieds) for $72 shipped per pair.  His covers are outstanding and an excellent value.

Regards,
John
