I'd love to see a real life picture of Ernie beside his avatar which I always assumed is a self portrait.

Jerry, look at the pic I posted above. That's Uncle Ernie on his Bimmer.

An Ernie- ism:

What a coincidence! 36 years for me, too- and I'm still 35.  How do we manage to pack so much l-o-v-e into one marriage.  Why, just this evening I said, "Hon-" and she said, "Don't talk to me, aBeep Beep Ah-oOOogah".
Isn't she a beaut?!

What a fitting last post he made,  "You should come out of School smarter than when you walked in."

I'll figure out why I'm laughing later.  Right now I just want to enjoy a moment of merriment!

He was a talented poster. I said to him on a few occasions, "you could be a writer"
His whit was something else, he could reply to a post within seconds of it being posted with a whitty answer.

I shall miss Uncle terribly. He was one of my first friends here. We became friends because we both wound up in the same political threads, but on opposite sides of the fence. I learned from him that there's not much point in getting into heated arguments with friends. I grew to admire Uncle. He had a very hard go in life, but he kept at it with zest. I wish we could raise a glass together to toast a man who has touched so many of us.

Rest easy, my friend. You've earned it.

Now here is guy I would have loved to meet in person, share a conversation and a ride.  He is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this site.   Many more good friends I'm sure.  Take care, all my brothers and sisters...enjoy the ride as I know Ernie did.

I ride to work quite often, so the annual Ride to Work Day  "Monday"  is nothing special to me, but this time I'll twist the throttle one time in honor of Uncle Ernie.
