Where to buy Oil Pressure switch 1974 CB550

Pulled my shift cover to clean and polish it... found my oil pressure switch is leaking ( still works)  Are new switches attainable?

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
 Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
 What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

Alright thanks! I checked HDLparts.com where I usually buy Honda parts (far cheaper than bikebandit.com) and i didnt see it.  I will keep looking and check FAQ for dealers.

You are using 10w/40?
 Thicker oil pops the top off (bad design, scrwed directly to top of pump  ::))
Don't rev it over 3,000 until its warm. I had 4 in first year, 5th lasted ........dunno, still in there  ;D

Valvoline 10/40 motorcycle oil for wet clutches is what I use... Just bought the bike 3 months ago... has 30K on it, looks like a PO maybe rebuild some engine components, maybe not, there is paint on the case but not covers...typical of a rebuild I assume. 

The oil is puddling up where the metal case and plastic meet on the OP switch... seen it on cars tons of times. 

I usually let the bike warm up 3-4 minutes a with a high idle then set the idle down and go... Cant say I dont romp on it at that point because I have been known ....

For all the CB550 owners i have a good news. If your oil sensor is leaking you can replace it with one from a CBR 954 or CBR 929. Is almost the same thing.

I have replaced mine an is working fine.

The oil pressure switch is one of the very few Honda parts I recommend NOT to buy the original as they all seemed to fail sooner or later.

Hi guys, I have been dealing this issue right now too. I have found under OEM code HONDA OE-37240-P13-013, which suppose to be switch also for my honda CB500F2 1978 also this switch in the link, which should be available close to me - do you think whether I can really use this one? Thx

I don't see no reason why you couldn't. Most important it has a 1/8 thread and it will fit.
