Hey everyone, my name is Connor and a couple days ago i bought this 1976 (i believe) CB550. Im really excited to get started on this bike and document it along the way. I going for the look of a clean looking brat style of a bike. All the parts on the bike right now are in pretty good condition and i dont have the heart to cut and chop them up. So rather than messing painting/bobbing/shaving the stuff thats on the bike right now, im going to replace it with parts off of parts bikes and do it that way. Heres a couple pictures of my bike, let me know what you think.. maybe some cool cheap ways of changing things.

Good to hear you wont be cutting/chopping.... i'm not a purist but that bike looks damn good as it is.

If it were me, I'd go the easy route of cleaner looking turn signals, brake light, and shorten the rear fender up.

You could then throw your brat style seat of choice on it and call it a day.

Cheers, Joe

Welcome!   I also have a '76 550   8)

You have a great survivor as a start there, it's great that you are going to stick with it.  I am on the complete other end of the spectrum.  Mine came as a complete basket case [with fellow basket cases] so it is getting stripped, cut, grinded, welded and anything else you can think of...

Looking forward to seeing yours progress, have fun with it.

It does look nice - those brown paint jobs are hard to find in good shape.  Often times they've mysteriously faded to green.
Just call me Timmaaaaay!!!

I don't think I've seen a cb in the milwaukee area in that good of shape. Nice find.

She is a looker. Best is, if you hold onto the good parts and only cut junk, you can resto it later if you so wish.
