Putting things into perspective...
« on: June 28, 2011, 08:00:08 AM »
I've been having a crap day- alternator on car broke, bank killed my second attempted house purchase this year yesterday that I was supposed to close on today...

...but I read some of the posts on here and much as the Dalai Lama says, we must compare what we have to those less fortunate to be truly happy, or something like that. My problems pale in comparison to a few of the other posts on the open forum right now, and makes me feel that I am fortunate in deed.

I'm going for a ride and maybe that will make it better...

Nice perspective. You have a car and are near to owning a home. Add to that the ways and means and leisure time to write on the internet about your motorcycle. That makes you filthy stinking rich compared to many (most?) people on Earth.

I saw this the other day and got a chuckle...

Sage advice.

My wife was a delivery room nurse for twenty years.  I am computer network support geek.
I came home one day and was #$%*ing about this and that and how one of the computers 'died'.
She let me finish.  She then said, we had a baby die at birth today.  I don't complain about work anymore.

It certainly is all in the perspective.

Yeah, you all are right. It's ALL about "Perspective".

What was that, about a man who either didn't have NEW shoes or not having shoes at all and then he saw a man with NO feet? Anyway, you get the idea.

Myself, I have times I get "down" because I have lost my Wife. But then, I see people who haven't had that AND I DO almost 39yrs of Memories AND I have our Daughter, as a result of that time. Yeah, Perspective!  Doesn't hurt to strive to better yourself though.  ;)
