The latest prices are: 4.10 x 18 $214, 4.25 x 18 $226, 3.25 x 19 $156. All Canadian dollars. The 4.25 was a fat tire for the time. Looks real skinny now! Prices from my local Honda guy.

That looks just like the DURO I bought for the back of my 550. About $75CDN two years ago. Good rough road tire, gravel, chipseal, patched asphalt.

The trumpet at the top of the page looks like it`s running a Firestone on the rear, these tires are all the rage in Japan right now. Look here:

I agree that the Dunlop Qualifiers give an authoritative look to a track-style bike.

I like the Conti RB2/K112 combo. Similar to the old Bridgestone tires that the bikes came with.

So he's running a 15" rear tire on that chop? I thought the smallest rims you could get were 16's, at least that's what I found.

I was going to recommend you take a look at Doug id's rebuild thread, but he's saved me the bother

They're a nice looking tyre, and are probably the ones my 550 will get to wear after the rebuild

My 550 is currently wearing Metzlers, and they have a good 'period' looking tread too, they just aren't to clever in the sticking to the road department

I agree with 736cc, The rear on that triumph looks just like the tyres I had on the front of my 'cal-look' beetle, Firestones if I recall correctly.

Starrion, getting a 15" rim is possible if you do a bit of lateral thinking, i.e: don't use a bike rim, many older British cars, Jags, MGs, etc, ran with 14 or 15" spoked wheels. If you can get an unpunched rim from one of the many companies that remake them, you could quite easily get it drilled to suit a bike's spokes and hub. I'm not saying that's the way he's done it, or even that it is a 15" rim, just that it could be done

Hey CrisP, Those Dunlop K70s like Doug used, are what I'm figuring on using on my 550 build also. I had them on my 66' CB72 that I warmed up somewhat and they worked great. Now I know that the CB72 was just a 250 and only had 2 cylinders pumping but it was still a pretty good runner. I've got several projects lined up and, if things work out right, might use the K70s on them all. You take care and I'll catch you later on, Bill

I have k81s on both of my 550s. $105 mounted with new tubes and bands through local Honda dealer. Look vintage and work very well.

They def. have a oldschool/vintage feel to them. Just need to figure out what sizes I need..

I have the Speedmasters on my 550 and am very happy with the way they look and perform. Wish I had a picture that showed the tires better to post here.

I would also be very eager to see a pic of these tires mounted up on a vintage bike.
When I sourced my 21'' front for my CB750 it has a Avon Speedmaster on it (dry rotted to hell)..
Maybe I am destin to run these tires ?

I'm using the Dunlop TT100's and have had no problem with them. Pretty good tyre but have not yet tried anything else.
