2011 Barber Vintage tickets on sale now
« on: July 05, 2011, 07:42:18 PM »
Got an email fom Barber today.

http://barbervintagefestival.org/

Let's get a bunch of SOHC4 folks there.  We have a good start here in the Atlanta area for the ride over and 3 nights camping.  Let's stay in touch.  It's a helluva good time with some amazing bikes.

I'll be giving this serious consideration. Biketoberfest in Daytona the following weekend too! Of course alligator hunting usually keeps me from attending biketoberfest every year... damn lizards!

Doing good! Bike remains ready to roll, might need a battery before then, but otherwise mechanically sound. Would definitely like to have a chance to swap "stories from the road". A shortcut through Six Gaps might not be a bad idea either!

Hey Bill,

How's it goin'?  I just put out a big Face Book feeler to the SOCH4 guys to try to get an early head count for this year.  I suspect we're gonna have a pretty good turn out this year.  I'm gonna bet we'll need at least 3 campsites or more :D.  We def need to set up a date to meet up and start planning, I'm willing to try to take on the logistics of this shindig so long as people keep me informed of their status especially anyone from out state.

Hey Guys, as always I'll be there.  My local club, Dixie Classic Bike Club (AKA Old Farts Motocycle Club) will have a tent set up in the club area.  It's probably too late to do anything this year, but the cost of a 20x20 space in the club area, room for a tent, some chairs and a banner is $400.00.  A lot of bucks, you may say, and you're right, except for the fact that it includes 10 festival long tickets.  When Jeff Ray talked with our president, he said they would provide enough camping spaces for those who wanted to camp.   I've already committed my 40 bucks to Dixie this year, but I'm thinking if we have enough interest, we should try to have an SOHC4 booth in the club area in 2012.  Let me know what you think.

Yo............

Saw about 9 different guys posting over in the SE coastal page about Barber.  Let's get a bunch of SOHC's riding over to Barber for the weekend.  3 of us rode over last year and camped.....big fun!!

Jump in here and post up.  Let's get together in the next month or so for a planning ride.  Maybe we can meet up in Gainseville and cruise up to the mountains.  Let's hear from y'all.

Cheers,

Welcome back Vern,

How about we pick a spot and meetup next weekend?  Or we could plan a nice mountain ride........

Let's hear from Travis and Adam and the rest............. (there are about 8 other members  in the area that have posted about Barber)......... and set something up.

Hi everybody!

Just thought I would chime in, I just checked the weather looking kinda iffy for Saturday so far lets hope it changes before then.  I saw on facebook Adam might not be able to go to Barber, but I know I am and I'm pretty sure Chris is gonna go too business permitting of course.  Also talked with Josh too says he's got a crew of about 4 so far too.  So far that's all I've got info wise.  I can easily plan another mountian ride if the weather holds out for us!

Let's ride on Sunday, which is easier for me to get away from my house duties, plus it's my last day of freedom before I'm back on the school bus. Let me know.V

Sunday should be good for me too.  What time guys?  Plus we might need to send some PM's too the other guys, I'm not too sure how many know about this thread.  Also talked to Fab just now he said he's in for Barber this year, I'm gonna get our camp site and tickets this week.  He liked the idea of doing what we did last year, riding out Thursday instead of Friday.

Hi Guys,

Let's do meet somewhere Sunday around lunchh to plan.

Vern,

Is coming up around the Mall of Georgia too far for you?  My son is gonna be in town so I might sit in for the planning and not go for the mountain ride.

Let us know if you would rather meet closer to the perimeter.  Once we get it nailed down we should all send some pm's to the other local guys.

Bill,

If it's possible can we meet somewhere more north?  Vern do you still want to do a mountian ride?  Chris just picked up another wing today and is itching to ride it in the mountians.  Or could we possibly do something on Saturday?  Chris also said we could crash his place after the ride to discuss all of our Barber plans.  Just lemme know what y'all want to do.

Hi guys,

I can meet up pretty much anywhere either Sat or Sun.  I would like to get the planning done first though as my son will be in town and I want to spend some time with hm.  We could get together anywhere up that way.....get some firm plans made...and y'all can hit the mountains.  Depending on the times I might do the ride also.

Pick a spot you like and let me know.

Thanks,

hey  Bill and Travis, I can meet at the mall either Saturday or Sunday as long as we can do it fairly early, maybe before 11 or 12? Travis, unfortunately I can't do a mountain ride after, the damn gutters on the front of my house got wiped out by a storm, so now I get to be way the hell up there on a ladder replacing 75' of gutters, whooopeee, not! Let me what day, time and place. sorry about the ride, but of course I will be riding up to the meeting at least!

Vern,

Bummer on the gutters man.  Can you say "insurance claim"?  LOL

Travis,

How bout you name a place (anywhere up that way is cool with me) and as far as I'm concerned we can meet for a mid morning breakfast or whatever.

Pick us a spot and post it up and I'll see y'all there.

Let me see what Chris can do this weekend.  I'm thinking Saturday around 11 at... say Taco Mac again?  I think I should be able to get Chris out for at least that long on a Saturday, and we can discuss all of our Barber plans, and possibly plan a mountian ride somewhere in there too.  I'll let y'all know what chris say tomorrow.
