Are all CB throttle tubes the same?

Got a new RH switch and bought some new grips to go with it. Had an extra throttle tube but one of the holes where the cable hooks to is worn out - oval shaped. So I need to replace. Can I get one off any 70's CB or does it have to be for the 750?

That shape is normal, one notch is round-the other oval.  At least on all Hondas I have...Larry

So which cable goes to which hole? Is the "close" cable the oval one? 'Cause I don't have that one (yet). But on the switch I have, the two threaded holes where the cables attach - one is bigger than the other.

The pull (the top throttle cable) goes to the front hole, other goes to the back.  Only works one way,, Honda liked to make things simple to repair.  At the switch, the front cabe will have a lock nut that does not slide up and down, rear cable nut will move up and down....Larry
