Race Bike - Honda MB50 with Kawasaki KX60 Engine
« on: July 09, 2011, 10:34:33 PM »
Just got a new bike. It's a Honda MB5 with a Kawasaki KX60 engine. It is a race bike (stroked, race slicks, full faring (set aside), fuel cell, rearsets) and needs love. The piston has a hole in it, and will need replacing. I'm really looking forward to getting this baby going.

Anyone have some insight into the KX60 engines? Looks damn simple to me.

A specific question: It had a Wiseco piston, which now has a hole blown in it. The PO says it was because it was run with a real hot plug and race gas. Anyone know if I'd be good to go with premium fuel and a cheaper eBay piston? I was thinking I'd get this kit:
