Are these Jardine Pipes packed and rebuildable?
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:23:00 AM »
I have a set of pipes like those shown in these pictures on my 350F.  I don't want to buy another set of pipes right now, but these are just too loud for my tastes.  Does anyone know if they are rebuildable?  I found a single rivet at the end of each pipe which leads me to think that the insides can be removed, but I don't want to pull them out unless I know they will accept packing.

FYI, the bike in the pics is not my bike.

Thanks,

The Jardine 4-into-1 on my 750 has a baffle that pulls out and is wrapped with fiberglass packing.  Yours may or may not be the same, but I'll bet it is.  It uses a LONG cotter pin through the collector and baffle to hold the baffle in place.

Rusty, thanks for the info.  I tried looking down the exhaust pipe, and I'm not convinced there is packing in there.  I don't see the typical perforated tube inside.

Anyone have any experience on a 4-2?  Bueller?
