Topic: '71 CB750 Slowly but Surely

I bought my '71 CB750 back in 2003, got it running very easily and drove it about 6 onths before I had to store it again.  I have finally brought it back out and am beginning to work on it and get it back to running condition.  I plan on rebuilding it little by little over a period of time yet to be determined.  The plan is to bring it back to original condition.  It should be pretty simple seeing as though it is all original now (I think).

First off welcome!

Nice looking bike, what needs to be done to get it running? Hope you didn't leave gas in the carbs when you parked it.

Actually no I didn't.  I have cleaned out the carbs again though.  There was some residue left.  It needs a new battery.  I fired it up via a jumper cable.  It needs to have the carbs synced, the timing adjusted, and possibly the valves adjusted.  Once that is accomplished, engine wise it is in great shape.  Not too bad for $500.

So, you bought it for 500 back in 2003 right? Awesome deal, even back then. Probably worth 5K now, at least on eBay, LOL.  Congrats on keeping it all these years and getting back on it again
