It looks like you got the cart before the horse. Messing with carbs before adj. valves and points. The order in which you do a 3K tuneup is very important as one adj. can and will effect another.

I will find it in a bit and post. I started rereading your intire thread on the first post you thought you had a hole in one of your insulator boots did you fix that is it the one with the tape on it?That tape will not hold up to the heat. My point is maybe take a deep breath reread all your post. When you find a problem like that carb insulator fix it before moving on or you may forget about it.Like TT I am not sure if you removed your emulsion tubes how many holes did you see in each one? I find the fuel bowl level check help me better than float height. Plugs looked better and it started and idles better. I think I got my measurements off (need glasses)

1. Compression test
2. Cam chain adj.
3. Valve adj.
4. Spark plugs clean & adj.
5.Condenser
6. points
7. timing
8. Air filter
9. Carbs
This I hope is correct. Maybe TT can verify.
Sds I know your trying and I don't mean to sound critical just trying to help.

All I can say right now is YeeeeeeeeHaw!!!!! This bike isn't for sale anymore!

So, I had two guys from near me come help with my CB. He just built a CB750 bobber and I had some parts he wanted. So I told him if he'd help diagnose I'd give him some of the parts. He came over and we spent 2 hours going over carbs, valves, timing, air intake, ect. Timing was off, valves were off and there was one hole that had gummed up pretty bad. When we started when it was done it popped like never before.

Took it on the hiway for thirty minutes and ran constant. no sputtering, lots of power, tons of giddy-up. We got it! CB people are great.
