Is it wrong for a 56yo to have a man crush on Casey Stoner......
What a ride.....I think I lept out of my seat by about 3' when he passed Lorenzo at 265kph on the OUTSIDE.....he is THE man....
(and mrs is pretty hot too...yes, I am a sad old man).

Any of you US guys get there?

I tell you what is disappointing - Bostrom pulling into the pits after running off twice, 4 secs off the pace, and then saying that he thought it was smarter to pull in because he had a superbike race to think of later in the day.
FFS, the guy has been given a motogp ride that most people would kill for, in front of his home crowd, how about thinking about the fans, the crew that busts their balls to put a bike on the grid and the sponsors who want to see their colours circulating - thought it was a pretty poor attitude from one so mature. What's the bet he's never invited back to motogp, even if he wanted to??

Althought the race was at 11pm here in Holland, I watched it and I liked the race. Great take overs of Casey, like he did in 2008 when he raced against Rossi (and finishes second, despite a crash)

Well, YEP.

I met up with friends on the way down from Alaska in 2005, watched Nikki (our favorite) beat Valentino (THE favorite). Did a lot of trips back and forth from AK around MC events, Steamboat, Park City, Laguna, Pikes Peak, etc...

Watching Nikki win at Laguna perhaps the best, still rooting for the Kentucky kid myself, even now that he and rossi are teamsters.

Yeh, I quite like Hayden, and Edwards too. Can't seem to warm to Spies though.
I might be biased, but I think Stoner is the total package.....as is Mrs Stoner.....ah, there I go again..

I agree petercb, unwise of Bostrom, even if what he said made sense. It rather surprised me actually, and you're right, he won't get another chance.

In the HiPo section check out the youtube video I posted (have a laugh) It's a hoot and I bet Edwards had a hand in the making. He's got a sense of humour.

Yeh they played that this morning here after the race, was very clever...Edwards was a scream. The race started here at 6am (mon), so my week was off to a great start.

i like stoner as well , i remember him from his time in the british 125 championship [from memory i think he finished second in the championship winning all the races he entered ] but i dont think he is the complete package just yet . tactically i think lorenzo is better [ did you see his practice crash from laguna ?] . for the last 3 years he has been over riding the ducati and was getting far better results than the bike deserved . how rossi must regret saying he didnt think there was anything wrong with the ducati , it was just that stoner wasn't trying .   now hes on the best bike in the championship and is looking great . yamaha have promised lorenzo a new engine for brno in three weeks that should get him closer on acceleration to the hondas, if that is the case it will be game on .  this could be the closest championship for years , ive got my ticket for brno i recommend you get close to the tv that weekend
bostroms problem was trying to get used to the bridgestones , they need a totally different riding style to make them work and he only had limited time to try to get used to them . at the end of the day he is paid by suzuki to race in the ama races and that is what he had to concentrate on . there are far better riders than ben who have not been able to adapt to the bridgestones , his team mate at laguna for example

Bostrom admitted that one of his run offs was due to missing a gear, so had zip to do with tyres. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to go from a superbike to a motogp bike, worlds apart, but the point is if you are given, and ACCEPT, a ride then it would be expected that you'd circulate and not sook it out in the pits after 6 laps. I just think that is unacceptable, no matter how much trouble you're having adapting to the bike.
By Stoner being the complete package I mean race winning, marketing and professional approach to his "job". I'm not sure where he's not cutting it "just yet". I like the way he refers to "we" when he's reviewing his races, it's not me me me, unlike some of them. And to me that shows respect for the team as a whole and the work that goes on behind the scenes.
