Exhaust Identification Help
« on: July 28, 2011, 05:15:06 PM »
I just bought this bike and I want to thank everyone in this forum for silently helping me getting this thing running.
One of my larger costs of the work ahead of me is replacing the exhaust (the right side actually corroded through and the last 6' of the pipe is gone.

I have looked at several types and nothing really looks as good as what is on there. From everything I have read it doesn't look factory. Seems like people like the 4-1, but I like the symmetry of these.

Does anybody have an idea where these came from? What style are they (4-2's?)?
Oh yeah, they are baffled.

Your pipes look like Jardine 4-2 slip ons. They used the factory head pipes, and were available in megaphone and turn-out style like yours. They were available for 550 and 750. I've heard a story that there was a dealer installed option package called the 'California Edition' that used these pipes.
