The bike is a suprise for him. I am in no rush. to get it done, and just tinker when I have a minute or two. The drag bars looked lame so I am now going with some superbike bars.

@ spiider - that is what i thought as well. THis thing has all sorts of bells and buzzers.

PA = public address? Were those controls from a cop bike?

PA=pass=headlight high beam flash. Standard on Euro bikes.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I don't know how I missed this thread. I had the same idea after seeing Sean Barney's 750 with an old set of bags on it for the 2011 Relay Rally. I just picked up a basket case 550F myself to build one of these. It just goes to show how rare a truly original idea is.

I'll look forward to the completed bike.

And now that I went back to the beginning of the topic I see that Sean already covered this.

Well, I hope you don't mind if I follow in your footsteps. Although mine will have a bit more chrome on it that what you are doing.

Hey Frankenstuff- The guys down at the model shop are extremely impressed with your side covers. Got some pics of them in my build thread. Hope to have everything painted in the next 2-3 weeks.

model shop you say? What do you do?
I have really got the system down now, my new 550K covers are the best yet. The KO covers are a kiss of death and the tooling is going to be used as a mooring.

Very interesting finish. I'd love to see that in person sometime!

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Yeah, it has been sitting for a while. I tried the clamp the clutch lever over night.... maybe some marvel mystery oil with seafoam and wd40 mixed with some ivory dish soap and a shot of scotch will loosen them up....or I could just get it running and POP vrooooom
