replacing a headlight on my cb750
« on: August 04, 2011, 09:10:28 AM »
I recently replaced the 7" headlight on my cb750 with a smaller light off of a cb175.  The bulb is a 12v 35/25w sealed bulb. It blew last night on my way home.. is it just a bad bulb or did it blow because the wattage was lower??

It's not because of the wattage

I have seen bulbs get brighter just before failure. Did low and high fail?

That is strange I would be looking for a loose connection at the plug at rear of bulb and the bullets then the Sw.every thing should be clean and tight. and coated with dielectric grease.

Sounds like either your voltage is way high or it's a 6 volt lamp

the bulb itself is a 12v which is why i was really confused as to why it blew.. i mean it was off a really ratty cb175 so thats probably why haha.. its a 5" bulb which sucks because i wish i could just put a 5 3/4" bulb in, but nope, i had to do things the difficult way.. im gonna order a new one on ebay and cross my fingers.. if it blows again the giant 7" is going back on.. to my dismay.
