K-1 and K4 sturgis debut
« on: August 16, 2011, 08:25:33 PM »
Well, we made sturgis. I was a bit worried about taken a Honda to a primary HD event but
I needent have worried. We had soooo many people come up to us and say nice bike.
On the road guys were given us the thumbs up and turned many a head when we rolled
threw any town. We did the Needles hi way, Iron mountion road, rode to nemo, dead wood
an all over. In total we cranked on 1904 miles, and the bikes worked perfect. They ran 80 to
90 mph the whole way there and back. There were 6 bikes in our group and of coarse we had the
smallest and oldest.  Didn't do so good on fuel as I thought. There was one guy with an R-1
an he took way less fuel every stop.  But were running between 5 an 6 all day on a 40 yr old
bike, just to damn happy she made it. I never did put on that windshield and wasn't sorry.
Was alot of fun, lots to see, an hear.  Amazing bikes them old Honda's.
Learn from other peoples mistakes, you won't live long enough to make them all your self.

Well done mate, it must have been a great trip, did you take any pics? Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Congratulations on the road trip.  I never understood the idea that anyone would have a problem going there on a Japanese bike.  When I went in the 1980's on my Yamaha XS650 I never encountered any animosity.  I think it's all overplayed.  So don't worry about what you ride just go and have fun.
