IIRC, there are little clips on the backside of the cover, holding the posts from the emblem on.  Once you remove those, the emblem should slide right out.

interesting, i dont recall seeing any clips, which would lead me to belive that mine have been glued on by a PO... great.  I will do some more investigating, i also have a spare cover and emblem (for the wrong side) that might be easier to take the emblem off, ill see if it has clips.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Carefully warm the backside with a heatgun and use a wood paint scraper with a bevel filed into the end to pry with.  There are very few adhesives that will not at least soften with heat. If things look like they are permanent, mask and paint around the emblem.  Again, carefully.

I know yours are gone but for others who might read this thread there is a bit of a trick to removing the "speed nuts" which Honda used originally to fasten the emblems onto the side covers. If you just pry them up, they hold on tighter and you run the risk of breaking off the posts that they are on. Better to use a very fine tool and pry up the individual fingers of each speed nut and when you loosen two or more fingers the speed nut will come away from the post with no damage.

I had read somewhere on the site awhile back about heating the cover carefully with a hair dryer, and then using dental floss to slide under the emblem. I did it this Spring and it worked great. (Had no speed nuts).
