Greetings and Salutations SOHC'ers!!!

The date is May 22nd and we are moving along towards our meet in June with ever increasing anticipation.

We are still looking for votes or nominations for the location for the meet to occur. I would like to have the voting done and everyone planning to attend to let me know by the First of June to give me enough time to arrange things with the establishment we will congregate at.

Now for the good news for the day: The first 50 Members who comes to the Meet and Greet will recieve either an SOHC4 club patch or pin. If you have a Guest with you who wants to join up, have them bring all pertinent information with them and I'll have my computer with me so we will be able to start them on the road to membership in this great organization.

Pertinent information includes the following:

1.) Full Name,
2.) E-Mail address,
3.) Physical address,
4.) Year, model, Engine and frame numbers,
5.) Date purchased.
Repeat numbers 4 and 5 for each bike.

Questions and comments are gladly recieved here and I look forward to see a lot of confirmations and a good vote on the First.
If you think we should patronise a certain place over another, now is the time to plead your case. Everyone gets one vote, but you can change your vote up until 9:00 P.M. of the First of June. Once the votes are tallied on the First at 9:00 P.M., the location will be set in stone. I apologise in advance to anyone this might inconvenience but I'll need the two weeks to arrange and finalize everything
with our chosen Meeting place.

Have a Wonderful Day and I look forward to seeing all of you get your votes and nominations on the thread soon.

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Well, I thought of something last night at work. I don't have a camera, so we'll need someone to bring thiers. If it is a digital, we can download directly to my laptop and I can set up a page in the gallery about our meet. Just an idea for you to consider,

Let's see 3000 or so miles, tires are good, chain & sprockets like new, back not worth a #$%*, naah quess I'll won't make it. But sounds like a blast... enjoy yourselves.

I will be close by in July for the Red Bull US MotoGP at Laguna Seca. Maybe if you guys break the ice in June, there can be a reunion in July down the highway a little ways!  I'll inquire if any race fans will be attending the event in a month or so, closer to the actual date (July 21-23)

Turns out that I'm headed to Ann Arbor, MI to visit my brother before he moves overseas.  That'll be Friday the 16th, so I won't be able to make it.

But, I say a little later in the summer we should have a group ride here in the SC Mtns.  Whattaya say?

Have Fun!!

Canyon750, Great to have you aboard,

Well, here it is the 27th of May. That means there is only 5 more days to get your votes in.

For those who don't go back to previous replies, I have modified one of mine, instead of everyone getting patches and pins, I had to modify that to the first fifty gets the choice between them. Unfortunately, my fund resources won't allow me to get as many as I had hoped, but I still want for as many people as possible to get a patch or pin from the club.

I look forward to hearing from more of you every day!!

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Wow!  I've been a member for 5 years of this board and I can't wait to meet everyone there!

Has anyone informed Charlie's Place?  I'll call over there and ask him to put up a flyer.

I'll be cruisin over from San Francisco, so if people are interested in meeting at Zeitgiest or Charlie's Place or something that would be cool to do a bay bridge ride!

send me email on this benmullin333 at yahoo

Thanks to Glenn for sending out that email, I would have missed it otherwise!

I'll be in SF on the day of the meeting (June 16th).  I plan on heading to Berkeley when I get off of work at 4pm.  If you want to meet at Charlie's right after 4, let me know!  Hey Glenn!  Do I get a patch?!?!?!?  ;D

Canyon, Glad you'll be able to make it. I'm buying the patches and pins myself so if your one of the first fifty people there you'll get your choice :o.

Ben, also glad you're aboard as well. I think this is going to turn out well.

As a great man once said, 'Timing is everything'. Once the voting is done on the first, we just need to settle on a time to meet. we have plenty of time to finalise everything so no worries there.

I look forward to seeing everyone confirming their plans to come to the Meet and Greet and on the 16th seeing everyone who can make it. I am sure our special guest Glenn Stauffer will be Honored by a great turnout.

Talk to everyone soon,

Peace and Long Rides,

Jeff

Well, the great masses have spoken!

The totals are a victory for Pyramid Alehouse in Berkeley with nine votes.

The only question left is when.Earlier in the afternoon is best to try to avoid some traffic but work demands may interfere with that. I am going to talk with Pyramid in the morning to see what our options are and what can be done for parking etc. I will tell then were are looking at a turnout from 10 to fifty people to keep our options open. Also, if possible, I will set up a table where we can congregate and to the meet thing so we will have a dedicated table just for that. Glenn will also probably spend some time there to sign Autographs ;D ;D

When I talk to them, I will try to nail down a time for me to come and setup and will shoot for one o'clock.

Glenn, I will get directions from the Bart station and if that is too far of a walk, I will arrange to have you picked up and dropped off, so no worries there.

Very Important!!!!

Please reply to this post with confirmation as soon as possible so I can provide numbers to Pyramid. If you know you are coming, please say so and include how many will be with you as guests. I will also need to have an idea about what time you are going to try to arrive.

;D I can't afford to keep everyone in drinks and food so please bring a bit of green with you so you don't waste away to nothing from no food or drink. Can't have anyone fainting away, just think of me giving CPR, Scary huh? ;D

Other than that, Please have a great Day/Night and I'll see all of you soon.

Jeff

I'll be there too.  The walk from BART is close to 2 miles.  The closest station is North Berkeley and I'm not sure about how great bus service is from there.  El Cerrito Plaza station is better for busses, but who REALLY wants to take a bus.  Plus EC station is a little further (3miles or so...)  A taxi is good, but you will have to speak another language to say "shortest route" (not racist, just stating a fact!   ;)  )  Can't wait to meet the group!  I'll be there at about 5:00pm!!

What size is your head Glen? I've got a spare helmet(XL) and can spare ya the indignity of showing up at a Bike meet in a cage :D :D  N. Berkeley Bart is on my way and my timing is flexible.

I'll have luggage with me which makes riding pillion a bit tough  The two mile walk won't kill me.  Getting from the train to the place won't be bad; getting back depending on how late it is may be best by cab.  I'll look at the train schedule and give everyone an idea of when I'll be there sometime this week.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

The walk is not so bad and is at least a "mostly" downhill journey. If you have roller luggage it may even be a pleasant stroll :)  Let me know if you would like best street directions.

Don't forget the return trip is mostly uphill. ::) I was planning on when I get to Pyramid, call a cab to pick you up at the bart for when you get there and then to take you back when you are ready to go. it's only four or five bucks each way. My treat. Can't have our special guest humping his luggage all over Northern California looking for the rest of us ;D :o ;D

Did everyone get the e-mail I sent? if not PM me and I'll PM it to you.
