Weird sound from my bike...
« on: August 29, 2011, 09:29:27 PM »
It sounds like the spokes are being plucked..I don't know if it is the spokes or a valve..It just started... So I hope it is just the spokes.. anyone have this sound before.. Or is it just me...

Stiff link in the chain rolling over the sprockets would be my guess, and gentlemen, that is just a guess based on the description and my imagination.

I really think we need some more info on this one.
Does it sound like it's coming from a wheel? Does it change with road speed/engine speed?
Or maybe it occurs when you crank on the throttle. It's not pinging is it?
Give us a bit more to work with here.  ;)

Its not when I crack the thottle,  Its when I'm under no load and just coasting down hils and over rough road.. I'm going to lube the chain and check the spokes in the rear... It just started yesterday, so not really sure weres it coming from..Yet.. it sounds like when you take a wrinch and hit the spokes.. weird little bike.. but hauls ass..

I can remember when something dodgy happened to an improvised centre stand stopper on mine & it was actually rubbing on the chain when the chain was flopping about a bit cos it was a bit loose. KCC might be on the right track too.
