Topic: K0 Frame from 6/70... value?

Hey all, I wanted to see what everyone here thinks my k0 frame is worth.  It's a 41,xxx VIN from June 1970.  Everything seems straight and I've been thinking about moving some components over to it from my 76.  You guys know a lot more about this than I do, so your input would be great.

While we're at it, I think some of the components, such as the front caliper and triple clamp might be sandcast.  Any surefire way to tell, visually or otherwise?

I would go $175 on a KO frame with a low mileage, clean title, but I am a major tight a$$ and have to make money down the road on it.  I have seen KO frames sit on eBay for awhile with no bidders.

You'd have to post some pics so we can identify the stuff.  Worth a lot if it is actually sandcast.

Has to be in the serial #'s 7000's or less to be considered true sandcast,though some parts were also used on the K0.Sandcast engines and frames are the big money, True cut fenders,non stamped pipes and ducktail seats are also good money items. Other certain K0 bits are sought after also as you have probably noticed on E-bay.

Yes, what about them?  Look like early K0 bits.  type sandcast into the forum search, sit back, enjoy.  This info is so covered it has grooves in it.

Thanks KingCustom, I like the looks of the parts, so maybe they'll turn into a build down the road.  Some of the parts will go toward my 76, right away.

DANGER DANGER!  That triple tree is no longer available from Honda. Good used ones bring from $100 to $300 on eBay. They are broken regularly as yours is about to be!!!!

There is a spacer that goes in the clamp part of the tree, around each tube. Yours does not have them. If you try to tighten that clamp too much it will break and you will then be on the demand side of a tight supply demand situation. They are not repairable.

You should first loosen those clamps gingerly, just a skosh to take the force off the triple tree, but not enough to let go of the tube.

Be careful about using standard hardware in place of a proper thickness spacer. Most standard washers I've found are too thin and if used the tree will still break.

june of 70 is a different animal than an early 69. there are some valuable pieces there but IMO the frame is not really one of them. even the unicorn triple is different among the sandcasts and the later K0's ( i think, correct me if I am wrong)

Yes they are not early KO bits.. what I mean is I am safely assuming they are the later more common stuff
