1974 CL125 Cafe

A few months ago, I picked up this little CL125 from an acquaintance for $100 (he didn't want any money for it but when I insisted, we agreed on a price of $100- should have kept my mouth shut!).  It had been sitting outside of his garage for the past 6 years uncovered and had accumulated rust and other signs of neglect.  Has less than 280 original miles and seems to be mechanically in great shape.  Here are some before pics.

Took the bike completely apart and began cleaning/wire brushing/repainting the bike.  I have begun to reassemble the bike- put a set of clubmans on, aftermarket turn signals, and have tried my hand at building a solo seat.  So far I'm pleased with most of it.  Still have a ways to go but making decent progress.

One last shot from the exhaust side.  I have also mocked up a pedestrian slicer license plate on the front fender.

Looks like $100 well spent - what a cool lil project!

Thanks- love the tiddlers!  My daily ride at present is a '71 CL175 which won't win any 1/4 miles but is great for around town and it just sips gas.  Here is a pic.
