New old guy checking in.
« on: September 27, 2011, 03:32:07 PM »
I posted a message similar to this a moment ago, but it looks like it disappeared so I'll try again.
I'm an old guy, but a new member.  I have a 1970 CB 750 which I bought new in August of 70.  The bike has been in storage for well over 20 years.  I recently took it out of storage as the bike bug bit me again (my wife says old age crazy bug) and started cleaning it up.  By way of information, I live in Walnut Creek, California, across the Bay from San Francisco.  There's a bike shop in the City, Charlie's, which deals exclusively in older and vintage Honda's.  Charlie is THE MAN to work on these bikes so I took mine to him to get it safely ready to fire up and run once again.  The bike is very clean as I've taken good care of it since new and after Charlie checks it out I'll go to work on the details to bring it back as close to showroom as possible.  I'm itching to get back on the road and look forward to seeing some of you out there in the not too distant future!

Welcome Clarence!  There's a whole whack of us on here with a similar story to yours, my K1 slept for 24 years.  You'll learn a lot reading the posts, some real experts are onboard (not me).  We love pics, so post some "as is" shots, then we can enjoy your ride back towards roadworthy.

Welcome aboard! Picts are a must, but I think you need four posts before you can attach pictures. Pictures either have to be <256kb in size or externally linked (i.e. photobucket). Welcome back to the riding community!

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!
