Gl 1000 forks

Hey.I am pondering putting early Gl1000 front end on my CB750.I already have Cb750A wheels,I have searched but cant get anywhere.I know a bunch of you guys have done this,Is it easy?Will the Gl1000 tree fit?The price is right and bigger tubes with twin disc are a plus,Any advice?Thanks.For what I understand the Cb750A wheel is the same?? ???

people say it's easy, but why wouldn't you use goldwing wheels, they're awesome, hi-side aluminums

I am doing this conversion now and have been gathering parts. Just get a set of bearings from All Balls and slap them on. You will most likely have to install some screws into the steering stops so your bars wont hit the tank. Also you will need to use the GL brakes and speedo drive. You may need a new front master cylinder for the dual front brakes.

when i did mine, i had to use the top bearing from one set, and the bottom bearing from the other set.....76 Gl1000 triples onto a 76 750F....other than that its straight forward.  the GL wheels are rear shaft drive so would need another rear wheel that is chain drive.

It will also work with the old ball bearings.  This is a plug and play, no brainer, mod.  Drops right in, exactly the same.  I used a CB750A rear drum brake rim and a GW frontend on my last chopper build.  They match.

king- wicked chop! Why the GW front end though? No discs needed up front for your  build......what year GL's are the direct swap?
