Tonight I mounted the Tarozzi clipons with grips and stock forward controls. I had to notch a hole to allow the wire to exit below the bar to the outside of the clipons. I used a large drill bit to shape the round bottom of the notch and cleaned up the strait edges with my angle grinder (cut off disc installed)

I could not help but lay on my tank. I had to see what she looked like.

Next on the agenda is completing the wiring. I am thinking about a battery eliminator from Oregon Motorcycle: http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/BEC.html

I've heard mixed opinions about it. My concern is I am too far past the point of welding a pan into the frame to hold a small battery, reg/rec, fuse box.... I've figured with the battery eliminator I can just bolt all the electrics to the bottom of my seat.

Looking good. Like the pod setup. Looks just like mine lol. For the battery I always wanted to eliminate the starter and put on a headlite switch then us a smaller battery.

Am I using the easy button? Maybe, but I really like this seat. It's a true bolt-on which I love seeing as I will be mounting all the electrics to the seat plate. Should be here by Thanksgiving.

Mono-gauge setup is assembled. I've already painted the key/LED bezel twice and tonight I messed it up again. So I stripped it and buffed. It looks better in black but didn't feel like painting a 3rd time. The bezel came with lights (amber x 2, red, and green). I will forgo the bright light indicator for individual (L/R) turn indicators.

Also positioned and locked in place the clip-ons and forks.

New seat came in and I have it attached on hinge only. Will need some tweaking to get the seat lock working but nothing major. The seat looks great!

The seat is well made and lots of room on the bottom to attach my electrics/battery eliminator:

I don't like the look up the open tubes under the seat:

So I will cut the rear indicator brackets off and slide the grab bar in under the seat. I like the idea of having a rear grab bar for stability.

Major items left:

Need to get custom throttle/clutch cables. Stock are too long
Tear down rear wheel so I can paint rim and replace tube
Finish connecting electrics/fuel to test run the bike
Attach linkage to shifter/rear brake

Working on the rear grab bar. The new seat is shorter and I want to keep the bar tucked under the seat. So I chopped off about 5 inches and the rear indicator brackets:

It turned out well. I had to re-tap the retaining bolts:

Good looking little bike. Hard to believe they sold a lot of those, I've never come across one. I was under the impression the CB350 was the more common one of the two. And why couldn't I score the Fast Orange w/ a free nail brush? Love that stuff.

It's been a while since my last update....and it's been about that long since i've had time to work on this project. So here goes:

I ordered bullet connectors from http://www.vintageconnections.com/. All wire connections are crimped, soldered, and heat shrink wrapped.

I ordered a reg/rec combo and battery eliminator from http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/ and am using their wiring setup:

I am wiring as much as I can to the seat pan. It has a good sized lip and will hide most everything for a really clean look. Plus my seat uses the stock seat hinge so I am wiring up quick disconnects for easy seat removal. Here are some pics of my wiring progress.

First the essentials:

Battery eliminator and reg/rec combo mounted:

Power leads connected and some wire management done. I am using electrical tape so get my paths down. Eventually I will use wire clamps some other form of more sturdy wire management:

Wiring complete under seat pan. All components are grounded to the seat hinge bracket. I will a grounding wire from the bracket to the frame. I have an inline 15a fuse and kill switch mounted as well:

When the seat is down all you will see is a single loomed tube going between the pods. It's as clean as I could make it:

I temporarily wires up headlight and kicked her a few times. The headlight got brighter with each kick. Tells me the charging system works and all my grounds are good. Ordering a new headlight and tail light from Dime City. Once they are in I will run wires and install a headlight switch. Lights will need to be off for kick start. Not enough power otherwise.

I am expecting seat lock and key switch hardware today. Can finally mount the seat proper and install matching locks for seat, fork locks, and ignition.

My key kit and misc hardware bits were delivered:

The plunger bolted right up to the seat pan and locks closed very tight.

For the firsdt time since I started I can put weight on the seat and put my feet up on the pegs. She's almost done!

That's beautiful work. I'll be watching this thread. My first bike was a 360 I brought back from the dead. I ran shorties on mine & the sound was awesome. Got your attention wherever you went. A friend of mine tried running the pods but could never get the carbs tuned right. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. If you run into needing any parts please let me know, my buddy is sitting on several of these that are mainly parts right now.

The electricial is complete and tested. Only thing left is to mount the tail light. Using the minimal wiring setup I only had three wires going from the frame to the bucket.
