Priceless EKPENT, the expression on the birds face and the comment, LMAO!! Yep, I could take a fair amount of ribbing from a bunch of guys on an internet forum for a potential $10K paycheck.  :-)

You guys are brutal .lol   I believe in the dude.  He is on the way.  I don't believe he is going to find 8 sandcast engines and an alloy frame but I'm hoping he does.

Man I'm stayin up past my bedtime for this.

This thread has more suspense than Masterpiece Theater. I'm sitting here refreshing my computer to try and hurry things along. How will it all end???

All fail!

All die casts

Custom made Aluminum drag racing frame

I'll post my pictures of failure tomorrow. Gonna drown my sorrows in a glass of warm #$%*ty Oklahoma beer at that dive we saw 100 miles ago...unless they stop serving beer in this crappy state at dark :30

This is too much fail for one man. Glad I brought my friend.  :(

Thanks for staying up guys. I'll turn out the lights...

It was fun while it lasted!  I'm interested to hear the guy's explanation for thinking they were "sandcasts".  Should have gotten the whole thing on video.

So did you buy them anyway? 5 die-casts plus the drag frame still may have been a decent deal. BTW, thanks for including us in your quest for the golden fleece. It was every bit as good as the Greek version. ;D ;D

No. I most certainly did not buy them. You'll understand tomorrow when I post the pics >:(

The drag frame was slightly tempting, but I passed. It was fn HUGE, and I would just be reselling it to someone. I want nothing to do with it.

He said the green kawi drag bike wasn't for sale, and it wasn't in that great of condition. I guess the pics he showed me were at least 15 years old.

They better not have been KO motors, and you left there...

OK, just to brighten our mood, tell you about the drama when I picked up my sandcast.. probably never told this online..
I go look at the bike in the barn, and it looks like a sandcast.. so I offer him 500 bux.. before this i tell him  that I need a week or two to get the cash..he accepts the offer.

About a week later I go to a swap meet.. vintage car club.. I rent a space outside. I get there the night before and sleep in my rat truck.. i crwal out of it in the morning.. people are seeing this and telling people about this later.. I probably looked like a troll coming out of the truck.. I get over to my outside space, park my truck, tell them my buddy is bringing the struff to sell.. but I am fibbing.

Go inside scoop some killer deals cuz I am early.. Find some nice oil tins, buy them up.. (traded a 25 dollar one down the road for 300-400 worth of stuff!!)
to shorten the story, i spent most of the sandcast money.. now I phone and tell him I need another week or two, he says fine..
About 2 weeks later I have the cash.... meanwhile its hard to sleep, and I am worried sick about losing the sandcast bike.. I drive over there, and.....

My sandcast story is not quite as compelling but a guy down south had tried to get the seller to take a deposit and the seller wasn't comfortable doing that but was considering it -- when I called on the craigslist ad.  He had it listed based on the title which said 'first sold 1970.'  He was asking $800.  I looked it over and at that time I did not know what a sandcast even was -- he said 'It's a 1970 cb750' and it was all complete, in decent but not excellent shape, and I paid him in cash full price $800.  The guy was GRATEFUL because he needed to sell it but didn't like holding it for this other guy who was 400 miles away, he said "I'm so glad I got someone local to buy it, I didn't want to deal with a long-distance buyer."

Thank goodness the motor turns over but I haven't started it yet.  I got it home, this was the very first vintage cb750 I ever bought, I started researching the VIN CB750-1003xxx and found 'hey this was made in 1969' and discovered this whole sandcast deal.  Beginner's luck.

I want a drag bike...

If you want a CB750 drag bike, you may want to take a look.
I was devestated about the engines, saw the fifth one mounted on the drag bike wasn't a sandcast either, saw the frame was big and I had no use for it, and didn't think twice.

It's completely unfinished aluminum.
He mentioned some kind of front cowl for it. I wasn't really listening at that point. That means its probably worth $57,000, and post all about it on the forums and I'll look like even more of an idiot! :) lol

I have a daily bad pic of it I can send you tomorrow.
