RC Engineering Engine Update
« on: October 16, 2011, 10:16:31 AM »
I had the post back on 10/9 - thanks to all who replied. I did some more research and disassembly and came up with some more info. The engine is a 1969 die cast with an RC Engineering 1000cc bore kit (Alcoa stamped pistons). HD stud kit, HD cam chain, HD valve springs, alloy retainers, hardened valve end caps, stock ignition (darn!), stock clutch and springs (I think), stock rods that have been hardened and fitted with auto size bolts (cases had grinding to allow rod end clearance) and .043 copper head gasket. All items to appear in excellent low mile condition – no visible damage whatsoever.
From research done on resale value of this stuff it is probably not worth as much as I hoped. So I think I may drop this monster in my stock 1976 CB750F for curiosity value. Might as well see what 100hp at the rear wheel feels like……. I will be using K&N filters and a Hooker 4 into one exhaust.  I will be using the stock carbs – does anyone have a suggestion for main/pilot jet starting point? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance…I am also including some pictures.

I don't know if the stock carbs will work with that motor you might want to ask retro rocket as he has a lot of experience with 1000 cc conversions
when you own a motorcycle the wife does not have to find you handy she just has to find you
