Since the weather is horrible here, one bike in pieces that is currently on hold due to lack of income (no job and recent grad from graduate school) I have been playing with that funny google tool and have come across several interesting Honda's..
I am rebuilding and hopefully be able to say I have built a bike from the frame up with my 550F.
My 550K will be my baby. First SOHC and love having people come up to me everytime I ride her.

Goals before I am no longer able to ride include this- Find a Rickman CR750
find a Cr181, I know its not a SOHC but its petite and cool.
Of course I want a absolute original 750 k3 and the holy grail Sandcast.

These are all aspirations I have the rest of my life to achieve. And when the time comes to give my current and future collection away I have two great young boys who will have it instilled the beauty of these bikes...
I also want to become proficient enough to share any knowledge I have learned from all of you to those who are in the same situation I was when i joined this site. Honda's literally open up a NEW world to people.

Lame post I know but I have to much down time now.

rule #1 don't sell a bike if you don't have to.
rule #2 learn to work on your bikes.
rule #3 train a kid to love and work on them, then when the time is right, there's a new custodian waiting.

What is a CR181? do you mean an RC181 the 500/4 Hailwood & Redman rode in the late 60's. I think I am right in saying Honda only built one and it no longer exists, an Hungarian built some replicas from photos, Honda refused to co-operate with drawings, using 550CBX engines as a base. I never heard it described as petite before, it was always described as a monster, in an attempt to tame it Hailwood had a frame built by a recognised British frame builder which improved it, this angered Honda who I think then took it off him about the time they pulled out of GP racing.

Very Touching Tews19!.... My wife and I are 3 weeks away from the birth of our first baby...a lil' boy....and I can't wait for the day I can pass my ol' 750 on to him....and watch him cruize the streets like his ol' man...... That'd be cool!

The bikes have been a good bonding experience with my Son and I,just wish he would get his hands a little greasy now and then more often.

He has been riding a 750 of one kind or another from the barn since he was 18.Have pretty much given him this nice 17,000 mile K3,just don't tell him yet

He likes getting out riding with the old guys.

I will tell you, I wish I had "re-discovered" 2 wheeled vehicles sooner.

But no, had to wait until the mid life crisis to get back in the saddle.

Thats the reason I have my late 60's z50. It was given to my grandfather in a basket after a local high-school took it apart for a project and never got it back together. The literal meaning of basket case. He put it together and my mom and her 2 sisters and brother rode it. When I was little I used to ride it. When he passed in 2005 I scooped it up and disassembled it and restored it with a few upgrades. Now I'm just waiting for my 3 month old to get on it. My father was a wall street guy who didn't get involved with cars or bikes. (This is another reason I'm torn between selling my Buell or passing it down, its my first bike and they no longer make them. It seems fitting to give it to my son.)

You are correct. it's a RC181-------- The first video is what caught my eye.

I agree with all of y'all. I have a 2.5 yr old girl and she loves motorcycles. I hope it stays that way. Id really love her to have my k4 I'm compleatly overhauling the eng. She is always "helping" me out when I'm working on it.
